The Golden Girls (and Boys)

I am absolutely in love with this image this fine morning. I might just extract myself from my desk, buy a train ticket and a snack cracker and head for NYC.

My favorite Little Golden Book as a wee lass was Little Mommy written and illustrated by Sharon Kane. This little charmingly sexist ditty (Little Mommy stays home with the babies and has questionable lunches alone with the doctor) must have been an absolute torture to my mother who was trying to raise me as a pureblood feminist tomboy. Ever wonder why you never see me in pants? Pure rebellion through and through.
